The Dinner Tree

Once upon a time a little blue Puskin was sitting under a tree at the crossroads, crying co-pi-ous-ly, when a little old brown Puskin came along.

"Why do you cry?", asked the old brown Puskin.

"Because I'm sad", answered the little blue Puskin, weeping co-pi-ous-ly some more. "I have no father and no mother and I'm very hungry. (sniff, sniff)"

The old brown Puskin asked him to show her where he lived, so he led the brown Puskin to a tall hickory tree in the Big Woods, and pointed to a place between the knotty roots to a little hole he lived in all alone.
