    Extensive information about the library and it's services.   • Texas Library Association

    Headquartered in Austin, the Texas Library Association offers a wide range of activities and services from awards to scholarships, from reading incentive programs to leadership opportunities in the TALL Texans Leadership Institute. TLA focuses on the needs of individual librarians and offers professional liability insurance customized for Texas librarians, a Placement Center, and a Jobline service--all designed to help librarians in their professional growth.


  • Texas State Library and Archives Commission

    TSLAC has eight divisions and programs providing direct customer services, special services to various client groups, and support services to other programs at the State Library and throughout state government. Also on-line is a description and history of the State Library's three locations:

    • The Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building in the Texas Capitol Complex in Downtown Austin which houses the State Library's public-service collections: the Texas State Archives, Genealogy Collection, and Reference/Documents Collection.
    • The State Records Center Building on Shoal Creek Boulevard in Northwest Austin; and
    • The Sam Houston Regional Library and Research Center in Liberty, between Houston and Beaumont.
